A Chandan Govenkar brace helped Saligao Sporting Club down Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club 3-1 in the Goa Second Division League match played at the Poriat ground on Tuesday.
Saligao Sporting dominated the game from the first whistle and successfully took the lead in the 19th minute through Noel Naik. Vagator Parish Youth had their chances in the opening minutes but couldn’t get past the rival defence. Saligao doubled the account in the 29th minute through Chandan Govenkar. The winners led 2-0 at the break.
Crossing over, Saligao Sporting continued from where they had left and soon scored their third in the 55th minute through Chandan who completed his brace. Vagator PYSC managed to pull a goal back through Pratik Dhabolkar in the 74th minute.
