Goa U-18 League: Salgaocar FC win 2-1 over Churchill Brothers!

Salgaocar FC Under-18 boys proved to be superior against Churchill Brothers SC Under-18 boys in their Goa Under-18 Division One League match which the Greens won 2-1.

It was a well balanced match where both teams showed each other what they are made of.

It was goalless at the half hour mark, when Salgaocar FC had an early substitution where Kaushik Negi was brought on for an injured Shreenath, who with his first touch of the ball scored with a header off a Rollwin Almeida corner kick. Salgaocar FC missed many chances in the first half to increase the score as it remained 1-0 at the break.

The half time team talk in the Green Brigades dressing room seemed to work as from the blow of the referee’s whistle to kick off the second half saw Levy Teles Pereira intercept a pass and drill one past Clarence, the Churchill Brothers goalkeeper. Clarence was kept busy during the entire match, who did well to keep most of the Salgaocar Colts shots from getting passed him. Ribhav Sardesai created problems for the Red Machines defence with his penetrating runs, and again the keeper to the rescue.

Churchill Brothers managed to reduce the margin in added time but it happened to be last kick of the game as Salgaocar FC won the game 2-1.
