Gonzalo Castro extends his Borussia Dortmund contract until 2020!

German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund today announced the contract extension by a season of midfield allrounder Gonzalo Castro until June 30, 2020.

The BVB’s contract extension of Gonzalo Castro comes after earlier extension of the contracts from young Germany international Julian Weigl and United States teenager Christian Pulisic.

“I’m really happy about the trust the club has placed in me and I can honestly say that it makes me proud to pull on the Black and Yellow jersey and play football in front of such amazing fans,” said the 29-year-old Castro.

“Both on a sporting and personal level, Gonzo has become a very important member of the squad in a short space of time,” added Dortmund Sporting Director Michael Zorc.

Gonzalo Castro signed for BVB on July 1, 2015 following 16 successful years – 11 of which were at senior level – at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. This season he has featured in 30 of Borussia Dortmund’s 36 competitive matches.
