Grassroots Football Schools reopen at Carmel Junior College after almost three years!

Jamshedpur FC restarted its Grassroots Football Schools initiative today at Carmel Junior College after a two years and seven months hiatus.

The return of the Football Schools initiative was met with a tremendous response with as many as 80 students enrolling for the program at Carmel Junior College alone.

The program is led by the Head of Grassroots at Jamshedpur FC, Mr. Kundan Chandra, who shared his thoughts on the reopening of the initiative after such a long lay-off.

“The Grassroots Football Schools initiative has been a huge success for the club and we are very excited to restart this program after almost three years,” Mr. Chandra said.

“It is very pleasing to see such a positive response from parents and their children as it also motivates us to help them improve and create the stars of tomorrow. We would also like to express our gratitude towards Carmel Junior College and its staff for providing us the opportunity to continue this initiative.”

The children involved with the Football Schools program have been placed in four categories depending on their ages, namely Under 7, Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13. A number of coaches have been assigned specifically for this program, namely J Nagesh Rao, Lakkhi Kumar Ghogra, Sourav Sarkar, Ramesh Soren and Siddharth Mukhi.

The program will be held three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Carmel Junior College while the Football Schools are also set to kick-off at other locations such as Loyola School, Jamshedpur Public School and Hill Top School in the coming weeks.
