60 teams, 600 kids and one football culture. With this objective, the third season of Assam’s first-ever golden baby league, Greater Guwahati Baby League started over the weekend at the Krishi Bhawan playground, Six Mile.
The opening ceremony of the league which is being organized by Guwahati City FC (GCFC) and Sportscraft Management as well as being recognized by the All India Football Federation and Assam Football Association, was graced by Akash Phukan, Vice Chairman, Board of Sports Assam and Chinmay Bora, Convenor, Golden Baby League Committee, Assam Football Association.
Akash Phukan praised the initiative from the GCFC and hoped that one day baby leagues will produce players who will represent India in the FIFA World Cup.
20 games in the Under-6, U-8, U-10 and U-12 categories of the first match day was conducted after the opening ceremony of the league which is supported by the Sai Vikash, X’ss, Guwahati School of Excellence, Print Panda and Logo Advertising.
