The second AIFF D Certificate Coaching Course conducted by the Guwahati City FC in association with Sportscraft Management concluded on May 3 at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium in Guwahati.
After two E Certificate Coaching Courses, one D Certificate Coaching Course and one C Diploma Coaching Course, this was the fifth coach education program of the club which was approved by the Assam Football Association and conducted under the rules and regulations of the All India Football Federation.
A total of 25 coaches across the Northeast participated in the course where C. Rabisankar Singh was the instructor appointed by the All India Football Federation.
The course was kicked off on April 28. Deputy Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Suswapna Kakoty, Assam Football Association Treasurer Hiren Gogoi, Administrative Head Ranajit Mahanta and noted entrepreneur and director of Uttarayan Group, Deepjyoti Baruah were present in the closing ceremony along with GCFC Directors Siddhartha Sankar Deka, Darick Ranjan Deka, Kaustab Chakraborty and club physio Dr Jeuti Sarma.
The AFC Grassroots Day was also observed with the closing ceremony.
The participating coaches were: Albertson Shyrkon (Meghalaya), Bijoy Das (Assam), Dangai Shuh Rymbai (Meghalaya), Deep Gogoi (Assam), Dhruba Jyoti Kalita (Assam), Dorjee Sherpa (Arunachal Pradesh), Guidingstar Malieh (Meghalaya), Jahar Brahma (Assam), Kalambas Boro (Assam), Kiew Bareh (Meghalaya), Kunal Gautam (Assam), Meban Mawthoh (Meghalaya), Mego Narzary (Assam), Nabin Dutta (Assam), Nitul Das (Assam), Phaorei Ngashangva (Manipur), Prafulla Kr Ray (Assam), Richbemos Roy Rani (Meghalaya), Samir Jyoti Rabha (Assam), Santosh Teron (Assam), Saurav Medhi (Assam), Shanboklang Mawlong (Meghalaya), Tumoni Boro (Assam), Vinsence Timung (Assam), V Pumsiamthang Paite (Mizoram).
