The Bulgarian national team, who will play in the upcoming days in the qualifier matches for the next European Championship, presented their new ‘Home’ jersey to be worn by the Luvovete on June 17 during their match against Lithuania.
A shirt that pays homage to a symbol of Bulgaria’s history, with gold details highlighting the centenary of the Bulgarian Football Federation founded in 1923. A kit full of symbols, history, and containing a message of sustainability and respect for the environment. Macron, the technical partner of the BFS since January 1st of this year, has made the national team’s jerseys from Eco-Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric made from recycled plastic, which means that 13 0.5 litre bottles are recycled and used for the production of one jersey.
The new ‘Home’ jersey is white with a knitted polo collar that has a golden border, mirroring the cuffs of the sleeves. The back neck is customised, on a white and gold background, with the logo of the national team, the Macron logo, and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying and highlighting how each garment is conceived, designed, and developed in the Italian brand’s headquarters. On the right side of the chest, in gold, is the Macron Hero, and on the left, the heart side, the coat of arms of the Bulgarian national team.
The jersey features embossed tone-on-tone graphics across the front and sleeves, a pattern that is inspired by the flooring of the Great Basilica of Pliska, one of the largest basilicas in medieval South Eastern Europe. The Great Basilica is one of the symbols of Bulgaria’s history, as well as representing the Christianisation of the country on the Balkan Peninsula. On the outer back neck is the BFS logo dedicated to the centenary in gold. The kit is completed by green ‘basketball style’ shorts, featuring white and gold detailing along the border of the thighs, and red socks with a gold upper border with a white stripe running through the centre.
The jersey has a Slim Fit; the main fabric is Eco Softlock. The Eco Micromesh back panel and Eco Mesh inserts ensure the garment’s lightness and perfect breathability.
