I-League champions Aizawl FC have been hit hard by the departure of their coach Khalid Jamil and a number of their players who were instrumental in winning the title.

But Aizawl FC president and owner Robert R. Royte has stated that the champions will be stronger this coming season and the technical team of the club has been working on fulfilling this promise.

The club has been able to bring back former club captain David Lalrinmuana (East Bengal Club/Mumbai City FC) and ONGC captain V. Lalchhuanmawia (Chhuantea), besides youngster Hmingthanmawia (Valpuia) from the Aizawl FC Academy and defender Paul Ramfangzauva.

Nigerian central defender and last seasons captain of Minerva Punjab FC Kareem Omolaja Nurain has also joined the champions to strengthen the defence.

But on a positive the club has retained his engine in Liberian midfielder Alfred Kemah Jaryan, while looking at young Mizoram talent as in Rochharzela (Best Player of NECS Cup 2017, Graduate of Aizawl FC Academy), Lalruatfela also known as Fela Zote) (best Midfielder & Star of 2016 Mizoram Premiere League 2016), Jojo and Remsanga in combination with the talented Albert Zohmingmawia and left footed H. Lalmuankima.

So not all is bad at Aizawl FC as the club has rebuild its side with a believe in the new crop of Mizo talent, while they search and scout for to suitable foreigners to strengthen their squad besides a new head coach.
