IFA (West Bengal) hold their annual awards 2024!

The annual awards 2024 ceremony of the Indian Football Associations (West Bengal) was held in Kolkata on Tuesday, March 12.

The IFA at the ceremony awarded the champions and runners-up of various divisions of the Calcutta Football League.

West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Basu, MLA and Kolkata Municipal Council Mayor Debashish Kumar were present besides IFA Chairman Subrata Dutta, President Ajit Bandopadhyay, Secretary Anirban Dutta, Vice-Presidents Saurabh Pal, Swarup Biswas, Biswajit Bhaduri at the town hall.

Also present were IFA Assistant Secretary Sufal Ranjan Giri, Shubashis Sarkar, Rakesh Jhan, Nazrul Islam, former footballers in Subrata Bhattacharya, Samaresh Chowdhury, Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Ashok Chand, Sabbir Ali, Ranjit Mukherjee, Mihir Bose, Bhaskar Ganguly, Victor Amalraj, Manas Bhattacharya, Nasir Ahmed, Jamshed Nasiri, Syed Rahim Nabi, Jose Barreto.

Further in attendance were Adamus University Professor Shamit Roy, Dr. Shantanu Sen, British Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Flemings.

On this occasion, the rolling trophy, introduced for the first time in Kolkata, was handed over to this year’s Calcutta Football League champion Mohammedan Sporting Club with Emami East Bengal FC as runners-up.

New Alipore Suruchi Sangh was awarded as first division champion and Kalighat Sports Lovers Association was awarded as runners-up.

Adamus United Sports Academy was awarded the second division championship, Sardan Athletic Club as Runners-up

Jyotirmoy Athletic Club were awarded as champions in the third division. Fourth division champion Shyambazar United Club and runners-up West Bengal Association of Deaf, fifth division group A champion Ariadah Sporting Club, runners-up Beniapukur Institute, fifth division group B champion Beleghata Boys and runners-up Hastings FC were all awarded on the day.

Apart from this, Kanyashree Cup champions Sreebhoomi FC and runners-up Emami East Bengal were awarded.

The IFA further felicitated the footballers of the Bengal U-19 Women’s team who finished runners-up at the Khelo India Games.

The ‘Sportsman Spirit’ trophy named after late Pradyut Dutt, the former secretary of the organization, was handed over to the Army Red team.

Former footballer Victor Amalraj’s book ‘The Midfield Maestro’ was officially released on this day.

On the occasion, Minister Sujit Basu praised the relentless role of the IFA in the cause of development in Bengali football.

IFA chairman Subrata Dutta said that IFA is a family. Everyone is working hard throughout the year for the betterment of Bengal football.

Secretary Anirban Dutta and President Ajit Bandopadhyay mentioned the efforts of all the clubs and all the officials of IFA to make the day’s event a success.
