India U-17s set to play Mali twice in Mumbai in April!

As part of their preparations for the upcoming 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, the India U-17 national team is set to play African country Mali twice in Mumbai on April 6 and 9 for new head coach Luis Norton de Matos to be able to make his first match assessment of his new team.

Portuguese Luis Norton de Matos had joined the India Under-17s earlier this month at their training camp in Goa and after the two match Mali series in Mumbai is planning for an exposure trip to Portugal with matches against top local U-17 sides besides potentially playing the Portuguese U-17 national team and further also a match against the England U-17s with further exposure trips likely to happen over the summer.

The Mali matches will be a good chance to judge where India stand about six months before the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup is set to kick off in India on October 6.
