delhi-dynamos-atletico-de-kolkata10 Men Delhi Dynamos FC held former champions Atletico de Kolkata to an entertaining draw in an Indian Super League – Season 3 match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday night.

The guests from Kolkata had the better start as Sameehg Doutie found Iain Hume free and the Canadian international slotted the ball into goal past keeper Toni Doblas in the 17th minute for an ATK lead. Both teams tried to get attempts on goal with the best for Delhi being a solo effort from Marcelinho which was blocked which Helder Postiga juts missed the goal against an onrushing Doblas.

Just before the half time break, the referee gave Delhi Dynamos striker Badara Badji his second yellow of the night for an attempted hand goal after he had tried to head the ball out of Debjit Majumder’s hands earlier. At the break Atletico de Kolkata were leading 1-0.

In the second half Delhi Dynamos got a lifeline as Prabir Das brought down Marcelinho on the hour mark in the box, but marquee Florent Malouda’s penalty was saved by Debjit Majumder to keep ATK’s 1-0 lead intact. Only three minutes later, a 10 men Dynamos would equalise through a brilliant long range effort from Milan Singh.

But in the 71st minute Atletico de Kolkata were back in the lead again as substitute Javi Lara scored off a long range stunner as he beat fellow Spaniard Doblas in goal. This time the lead would only last three minutes as Malouda made up for the penalty miss as he beat two defenders to score past Debjit Majumder the 2-2 equaliser.
