ISL-3: FC Pune City & Kerala Blasters play out another 1-1 draw!

fc-pune-city-kerala-blastersThe Indian Super League – Season 3 saw its third one-all draw in a row as hosts FC Pune City came from a goal down to hold Kerala Blasters to a hard earned draw at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune on Monday evening.

The Kerala Blasters made the perfect start into the game, when in the 3rd minute following a corner their French centre back Cedric Hengbart fired home to score the fastest goal of ISL-3 so far. The hosts were not shocked and tried to get back on level terms with Spanish striker Jesus Tato and Dramane Traore of Mali the biggest culprits of wasting chance after chance to equalise.

At the other end midfielder Mehtab Hossain’s 36th minute long ranger went just inches wide as the Kerala Blasters took a 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second session both sides continued to have their chances, Dramane Traore even put a header in goal but it was called offside by the assistant referee. FC Pune City did get their equaliser from a shot from their marquee and captain Momo Sissoko off a deflection of Aaron Hughes past Sandip Nandy in the Blasters goal.

Young Faruk Chaudhary could have restored the Kerala Blaster lead with a free header in the 72nd minute which Edel Bete somehow kept out of his goal with the Blasters having further chances through substitute Antonio German and again Faruk, but then both teams had to settle for a one-all draw.
