ISL-3: FC Pune City win a seven goal thriller against Delhi Dynamos!

fc-pune-city-delhi-dynamosIn a thrilling Indian Super League – Season 3 encounter, hosts FC Pune City defeated league leaders Delhi Dynamos 4-3 at the Balewadi Stadium on Friday evening.

Both sides had their chances at the start off the game before FC Pune City were awarded a penalty as young Kim Kima brought down Anibal Rodriguez in the box and marquee Mo Sissoko stepped up to take the spot kick but his weak shot was kept out by keeper Soram Poirei Anganba.

The Dynamos got stronger before the break with first Marcelinho unable to finish off a counter attack as he beat Edel Bete but his weak attempt was cleared out of danger by the Pune City defence, but a minute from half time Marcelinho played Memo on the right, he simply squared the ball into the middle and Kean Lewis just tapped in to give the guests a 1-0 half time lead.

The second session would a goal feast. It all started in the 55th minute, when a Jonatan Lucca free kick was headed into the goal by Anibal Rodriguez for the equaliser and only seven minutes later another Lucca free kick again from the right flank saw Mo Sissoko score following some deflections and only a minuter later after a Dynamos mistake, Anibal scored with a placed a long ranger to turn around things as suddenly Pune City were leading 3-1.

But the game was far from over. Delhi needed some time to recover but once they did they attempted to reduce the deficit through efforts from Marcelinho, Bruno Pellisari and Florent Malouda. They got their second of the night of a Malouda flick which touched Eduardo Ferreira before going in with 11 minutes to play.

The game was on knives edge and substitute Lenny Rodrigues sealed the home win in the 93rd minute with a placed shot off Lucca’s third assist on the night. But it still wasn’t over then Delhi reduced the deficit one last time through teenage substitute Malsawmzuala.

In the end FC Pune City scored a vital victory in their quest for their first ISL semifinal, while the Delhi Dynamos stay top despite the loss.
