ISL-3: Kerala Blasters take 1-0 over Delhi Dynamos to semifinal second leg!

Kerala Blasters FC defeated Delhi Dynamos FC 1-0 in their Indian Super League – Season 3 semifinal first leg at the filled Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi and the Blasters will now try and defend that slim lead going into the return leg in Delhi on Wednesday.

The match got off to a cracker as within the first 120 seconds, first Kean Lewis had a chance for the Dynamos which Sandip Nandy cleared and at the other end C.K. Vineeth just missed the target.

The ISL-3 top scorer Marcelinho caused all kinds of problems for the Blasters, had a chance on goal and forced Josu after picking up a yellow card to be substituted, but he didn’t score the lead for the Dynamos. At the other end Duckens Nazon had the best chance for the Blasters, but it remained goalless at the break.

Both defences now stood firm before the Blasters upped their attacks, first Duckens Nazon was blocked in the 64th minute and then Cedric Hengbart send striker Kervens Belfort on a journey which the Haitian finished with the 1-0 lead off a deflection of Anas Edathodika past Toni Doblas.

Going behind now the Dynamos went into attack in search of the equaliser. First a Florent Malouda attempt was saved by Sandip Nandy, then a looping Marcelinho header went over the keeper but captain Cedric Hengbart cleared off the line to keep the Blasters lead intact.

Towards one controversial moment remained as Marcelinho went down in the Blasters box follow contact from Sandesh Jhingan, but the referee waved play on, which did not go down too well with the Dynamos.

In the end, the Kerala Blasters scored a vital 1-0 home win over the Delhi Dynamos, their sixth in a row, which gives them a slim advantage over their rivals as both teams now head to Delhi for the return leg.
