Defending Indian Super League champions ATK ended their disastrous ISL-4 campaign with a 1-0 win over NorthEast United FC at the Saltlake Stadium in Kolkata on Sunday night to avoid finishing bottom of the league table.
NorthEast United FC had the first chance of the match through Maic Sema, but on 10 minutes it was ATK player manager Robbie Keane on receiving a pass from Conor Thomas to give the home side the lead.
NorthEast United FC could have equalised before the break, but their problem of this season continued, their poor finishing and ATK took the 1-0 lead into the break.
After the break both teams had their chances to score, but Robbie Keane’s first half strike was enough for ATK to secure the three points and finishing in ninth position ahead of NorthEast United FC, who once more finish last in the ISL table.
