ISL-4: Balwant Singh double for Mumbai City FC wins it against NorthEast United FC!

NorthEast United FC’s terrible run in the fourth season of the Indian Super League continued with a 0-2 loss to Mumbai City FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium in Guwahati. Balwant Singh was the hero for the guest scoring both the goals.

NorthEast United FC were the better side in the first session, but like in their earlier matches they could just not score with the woodwork, keeper Amrinder Singh and their lack of finishing in the way as they failed to score in the fifth of their six matches played so far.

Mumbai City FC went ahead in the 34th minute against the run of play when a Achille Emana through ball reached Balwant Singh and he beat an outrushing Ravi Kumar in the NorthEast United FC goal. The Islanders took the lead into the break.

Things continued the same way in the second session as NorthEast United FC just could not score, while Achille Emana in the 68th minute again set-up Balwant Singh to score again and seal the win for the guests.
