FC Pune City scored a rather easy 3-0 win over defending ISL champions ATK at the Balewadi Stadium, Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Saturday evening.
From the start the hosts FC Pune City put ATK under pressure, but they had to wait until the 32nd minute to go ahead when Adil Khan scored off a Marcelinho corner.
But thereafter ATK regrouped and put pressure on FC Pune City, but they wasted a number of chances to allow the hosts to go into the break with a slim 1-0 lead.
And in the 59th minute things got worse for ATK as winger Diego Carlos’ long-range effort went into the back of the net to enhance FC Pune City’s lead before midfielder Rohit Kumar sealed the three points with a third goal in the 77th minute.
For FC Pune City three vital points in their quest for a first-ever ISL semifinal, while ATK drop further back in their title defence.
