ISL-4: Lanzarote double wins it for FC Goa in 2-1 over Jamshedpur FC!

A brace from Spanish midfielder Manuel Lanzarote allowed FC Goa to return to winning ways in a 2-1 win over Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao on Thursday night.

The guests of Jamshedpur FC had the better start into the match but they couldn’t take the lead and towards the end of the first half, FC Goa got better into the game and in the 42nd minute they earned a penalty for a foul from Andre Bikey against Brandon Fernandes. Manuel Lanzarote walked up to take the penalty, but he had to retake it and scored also a second time to give FC Goa a 1-0 half-time lead.

After the restart Jamshedpur FC rewarded themselves with the equaliser as former FC Goa man Trindade Goncalves scored off a Jerry Mawhmingthanga cross in the 54th minute. But on the hour mark Lanzarote got once more onto the scoresheet off a pass from Brandon Fernandes.

Jamshedpur FC tried everything to equalise once more, but FC Goa held on for a vital win in their quest for a semifinal spot in ISL-4.
