Jamshedpur FC host Mumbai City FC at the Furnace next!

“Mumbai City are a really good team but nobody is unbeatable and we go in trying to win every single game we play,” stated the Jamshedpur FC Head Coach about his side’s upcoming home game against Mumbai City FC in the pre-match press conference.

The Men of Steel gear up to face their next opponents, Mumbai City FC in the ISL at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur FC.

In their previous fixture, the Jamshedpur FC side were unable to produce the desired result as they suffered a defeat at the hands of Bengaluru FC.

An early goal by the Blues to open their account on a cold night in Jamshedpur FC led to them scoring another on the 35th minute mark. After heading into the break with a 2-goal lead, the Blues netted in another goal on the one hour mark to take a comfortable position in the game. The Men of Steel rained down a barrage of attacks towards the Bengaluru box throughout the 90 minutes and were a constant threat in the attacking third but were unfortunate to not find the back of the net despite dominating every stat possible. The tight fixture between the two ended in the visitors, Bengaluru FC, taking all the winning points back home after registering a 3-0 win.

Moving on from the defeat at home, the Jamshedpur FC squad is now gearing up to take on their toughest opponents yet, the current table toppers, Mumbai City FC. As they get ready to share the pitch with the Islanders for the 12th time in the ISL, Jamshedpur FC stands as the side with more wins between the two (5). Out of the 11 games, 3 of them have ended in the two sides sharing the spoils.

In the last fixture played by the two squads, Mumbai City FC took the lead in the first 10 minutes of the game but Jamshedpur FC were quick to respond as well. Within 2 minutes after conceding a goal, Jamshedpur’s striker, Chima Chukwu found the back of the net with a precise header to get the Men of Steel back in the game. An intense 90 minutes at the Mumbai Football Arena came to an end with both sides settling the fixture with a draw in the early stages of the 2022-23 season.

At the moment, Jamshedpur FC are positioned on the 10th spot on the league table while Mumbai City FC are the current league leaders with 39 points acquired out of the 15 games played. The Islanders have already qualified into the playoffs with 5 games remaining to be played in the league stage and they are yet to be beaten by any side in the league, thus recording the longest unbeaten streak in the ISL’s history.

While the side in Sky Blue led by Des Buckingham will look to continue their unbeaten streak and extend their lead on the top, the Men in Red will aim to finish the season as strong as possible. The Men of Steel being one of three teams to have denied the Islanders the winning points in their previous meeting, the Jamshedpur FC side will leave no stone unturned to churn out points from this anticipated fixture at home. Jamshedpur FC will also put forth their best effort to be the side to beat Mumbai City FC to please the home crowd and be the first team this season to do so
