Jamshedpur FC U-15s join Jamshedpur FC U-13s in JSW Youth Cup semifinals!

The Jamshedpur FC U-15 team qualified for the JSW Youth Cup semifinals after a strong and dominant display against Sreenidi Deccan FC, winning 1-0 and joining the Jamshedpur U-13 team in the last four of the tournament.

After four matches played at the JSW Youth Cup, the U-15s have now amassed seven points, winning twice, losing once and drawing once in the campaign, comfortably seeing them through to the semis of the tournament.

The U-13 team has also qualified for the semifinals with a game to spare, owing to their four points from three matches so far, and will look to enter the final four on a high as they take on Sreenidi Deccan FC on Sunday.

Jamshedpur FC’s moment of magic came in the second minute of the U-15s match as exciting young midfielder James Thongmin Chongloi managed to squeeze his shot past Nongmaithem Beichung in the Sreenidi Deccan goal and give his side the early advantage.

Despite Sreenidi Deccan attempting to strike back with an equaliser, the boys of steel stood firm at the back and held on to keep the 1-0 advantage.

A number of second half substitutions from Jamshedpur U-15 coach Akshay Das provided the impetus needed to seal the defensive third of the pitch, and Jamshedpur FC held on to secure the victory as well as their place in the JSW Youth Cup semifinals.

The U-15 semifinals will now take place on April 24 where the first place finishers will take on the fourth placed side in the standings while second place finishers will play the team that finished third in the standings.

The U-13 team will play their final group game on Sunday with the semifinals taking place on April 25 with Jamshedpur FC’s opponents yet to be decided.
