Academy defender Josh-Kofi Acheampong has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea FC.
Acheampong joined the Blues as an Under-8 and has progressed through the youth ranks at Cobham.
A versatile defender, he has been a regular for the Chelsea Under-18s this season and has featured for the Under-21s.
“We are thrilled that Josh has committed his future to the club,” said Head of youth development and recruitment, Jim Fraser. “He has taken another step forward in his development this season, something reflected in his performances for club and country.”
Acheampong, who turned 17 in May 2023, was part of the England Under-17 squad that competed at the UEFA U-17 European Championships in the summer, and at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in November.
