Kassim Aidara extends contract with East Bengal Club!

Kolkata giants East Bengal Club have announced the contract extension of midfielder Kassim Aidara for the 2019/20 season.

32 year old Kassim Aidara who was born in Hamburg, Germany holds dual citizenship of France and Senegal.

The midfielder honed his skills at Germany’s Jenfelder SV, SC Concordia von 1907 and France’s Ligue 2 regulars Paris FC in his initial days.

He was soon roped in by New Zealand’s Wellington United AFC, who compete in The Capital Premier League. after a successful spell at the Island nation he moved back home to Germany’s Niendorfer TSV which played in Hamburger Oberliga (German fifth division). The following season he signed for Hamburg based USC Paloma playing in the same league. He later moved on to Lüneburger SK Hansa in Northern Germany to play in the Regionalliga Nord (German fourth division).

His rocksolid performance soon earned him a call from Estonian Esiliiga club JK Tallinna Kalev where he spent a season but his stay was cut short by City Top flight team JK Sillamäe Kalev and FCI Tallinn who signed him for country’s top flight Meistriliiga for the following two seperate seasons. However he returned back to JK Sillamäe Kalev for the 2017 season after which North India’s I-League Club Minerva Punjab FC came knocking.

Kassim Aidara won the 2017/18 I-League for Minerva Punjab FC before moving to East Bengal in summer 2018. The Kolkata giants played a strong season but finished only second in the 2018/19 I-League and now head coach Alejandro Menendez Garcia keeps faith in Kassim Aidara to win trophies in the 2019/20 season.
