FC Red Bull Salzburg have signed a new goalie. 30-year-old German Timo Horn has signed a contract until the end of the 2023/24 season and will wear the number 13 shirt.
After leaving 1.FC Köln in the summer, Horn has been without a club. He made a total of 329 appearances for the German Bundesliga side.
Red Bull Salzburg sporting directror Bernhard Seonbuchner said, “Our discussions with Timo Horn were very good. He is not only an experienced goalkeeper, who has played lots of matches at the highest level, but he is really eager to take on the new challenge. We are pleased to be able to welcome Timo to us.”
Timo Horn said, “It feels like a really good decision to come here, and we quickly agreed on it. After 21 years at Cologne, it is time for me to find a new club that suits me and that I can identify with. Alexander Schlager had a very good first half of the season and was really impressive. I will try to support him as best as possible for the rest of the season while also putting in the kind of performances that can make a claim for myself with the coach.”
