Kerala Blasters score a sensational 4-2 comeback win over FC Goa!

In a match-up of two teams in crisis, Kerala Blasters scored a sensational 4-2 comeback victory against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Sunday evening.

The match was a game of two halves in which FC Goa took an early sixth minute lead through a placed Rowllin Borges strike following a corner. Things got even better for FC Goa when Mohammad Yasir scored of a Noah Sadaoui square pass with just 17 minutes on the clock.

And then Kerala Blasters were lucky not to be three goals down after 22 minutes as Noah Sadaoui was called to be offside.

The Gaurs took a deserving two goal advantage into the break.

But after the breather, the Kerala Blasters looked like a transformed side. A Daisuke Sakai free-kick into the short corner of keeper Arshdeep Singh in the 51st minute reduced the deficit.

It was thereafter an open game with more of the ball with the Blasters. Then in the 80th minute, Carl McHugh handled the ball inside his own penalty box. Dimitrios Diamantakos stepped up and equalised for the Kerala Blasters, but they weren’t done just yet as the momentum shifted in their favour.

An alert Dimitrios Diamantakos was at it a again just three minutes later to give the Blasters a 3-2 lead with the whole stadium just exploding in joy. Another four minutes later, Fedor Cernych was free on the wing and the new winter signing just banged in the ball to ensure a memorable win for the hosts.

While the Kerala Blasters end their losing streak to move past FC Goa into fourth in the ISL table, FC Goa suffered their third loss in a row.
