Kickstart FC, the champions of the Karnataka Women’s League, have announced their 30-member squad, which includes three foreigners, for the 2023 Indian Women’s League (IWL) which kicked off today, April 26 in Ahmedabad. Indian International Dalima Chhibber will captain the team.
The squad has been strengthened by the addition of six Indian U-17 players who participated in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup that was held in India, namely Astam Oraon, Anita Kumari, Shubhangi Singh, Babina Devi, Monalisha Devi, and Rejiya Devi.
Kickstart FC will also have the experienced Indian Internationals Dalima Chhibber and goalkeeper Linthoingambi Devi, along with Nepal national team regulars Renuka Nagarkote and Saru Limbu. Kenyan forward Kioko Elizabeth Katungwa will also be joining their ranks.
Kickstart FC is placed in Group B of the IWL 2023, along with Celtic Queens FC, CRPF, Churchill Brothers, Eastern Sporting Union, Lords FA, Odisha FC, and Sethu FC. The team will begin their campaign on April 27 by facing Eastern Sporting Union at TransStadia at 8am in the morning. The top four teams from the group will qualify for the knockout phase.
