Kickstart FC secures a comfortable 10-0 win over Churchill Brothers!

In their third group stage match of the IWL, Kickstart FC secured a comfortable 10-0 win over Churchill Brothers in Ahmedabad. This win was helped by a hattrick from Kaviya and a brace from Kenyan forward Kioko Elizabeth and Nepal International Saru Limbu.

Kickstart FC’s coach Langam Chaoba Devi had emphasized the importance of a good performance before the game, in order to better their third-place position from the last edition of the IWL. The coach decided to field the same eleven players that won the last match against Odisha FC.

Kickstart FC started the match on a dominant note with Nepal International Saru Limbu orchestrating from the middle of the park. However, the team failed to convert a few chances that came their way. It was only towards the halfway mark of the first 45 minutes when Kioko Elizabeth tapped in a cutback from Saru Limbu, that Kickstart FC scored their first goal. Devneta Roy then sent in a nice cross from the right flank to find Kioko, who doubled the lead. Saru Limbu then converted a free-kick to triple the lead. Sonia Marak, who came in as a substitute for Devneta Roy, scored a beautiful curler to make it 4-0 before the break.

After the restart, Churchill Brothers made a few substitutions and became a bit more compact in defense. It took some time for Kickstart FC to get back into the groove, but in the 67th minute, Kaviya opened the floodgates with her first goal of the match. Kaviya went on to score another three goals, taking her tally to four goals in the match. Saru Limbu and Bibicha Devi capped off an excellent performance, and the score remained 10-0 at the end of the match.

Kaviya Pakkirisamy of Kickstart FC was named the Hero of the Match for her outstanding performance.

Kickstart FC’s next encounter will be against Lords FA on Friday, May 5 at 4:30pm.
