LaLiga & Carolina Marin renew agreement until the 2024 Olympic Games!

LaLiga is not just football. For some time now, LaLiga has been involved in the growth, progression and recognition of the other sports in various ways: Such as, providing visibility to other sports through LaLigaSportsTV, LaLiga’s OTT, or through sponsorship of top athletes, as is the case of Carolina Marín. In an event held today at LaLiga, the agreement with the sportswoman was renewed until the 2024 Olympic Games. An agreement that began in 2017 and through which the athlete has contributed to the expansion of the LaLiga brand across the world.

Furthermore, during the event, LaLiga president Javier Tebas highlighted that in the 2021/22 season, LaLiga contributed more than €120 million to other organisations for the development of non-professional football and other sports. Of this amount, the RFEF [Royal Spanish Football Federation] received 52% (63 million euros), the CSD [National Sports Council] 39% (47.22 million euros) and Unions 9% (11 million euros), which represents an increase of 432% compared to the 2014/15 season.

Therefore, according to Javier Tebas, “with this agreement LaLiga shows its firm commitment to the visibility and promotion of other sports and athletes during LaLiga’s promotional and corporate events. Carolina Marin is one of Spain’s greatest ever sportswomen, she has a great influence in strategic countries for LaLiga and we are proud to continue to combine our paths to achieve common goals.”

For Carolina Marín, “it is a pleasure to renew the agreement we have had with LaLiga since 2017, in which I use my influence in some countries, especially in Asia, to further expand the LaLiga brand. It is very important for me to have the support of an organisation like this one, which is well known all over the world and which helps me in my day-to-day activities.”

During the event, in addition to highlighting the role of LaLiga and Carolina Marín, a number of current issues were discussed, such as the current role of women in the sports industry and the improvements that could be made over the next 10 years.

In short, the signing of this agreement demonstrates LaLiga’s commitment to other sports and also strengthens Carolina Marín’s influence in strategic countries for LaLiga, especially in Asia.
