LALIGA & XS2Event to encourage foreign fans to visit stadiums!

LALIGA is an international competition with a global reach. That’s why the clubs think about all their fans, regardless of where they’re from. To bring the competition closer to fans outside Spain, LALIGA has reached an agreement with XS2Event, a ticketing platform that helps provide entrance to events for more than 750 travel/tourist agencies in more than 89 countries and has a reach of more than 3 million people.

As per Jaime Blanco, Attaché to Presidency from LALIGA: “it’s important for clubs to facilitate this type of experience for its international supporters as they’re a fundamental part of international growth. Additionally, international fans spend, on average, 30% more than domestic supporters, thus providing an extra source of revenue for clubs.”

Jeroen Huis in ‘t Veld, Co-Founder at XS2Event, “We are proud to welcome LALIGA to our platform. With our unique partnership we will be able to help make Spanish sports events more accessible to the travel industry. With over 750 travel agencies using the XS2Event platform we’re keen to help the LALIGA clubs with new global sales opportunities.”

To date, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, UD Almería, UD Las Palmas, RCD Mallorca and Girona FC have signed up to the initiative, and it remains open to any club that wishes to join. The agency purchases 10 advance tickets for each match of the 2023/2024 LALIGA EA SPORTS season from the club and makes them available on its platform to help provide access to all international fans. Furthermore, the specific agreement with each club can be modified by increasing the number of tickets bought or by offering additional immersive experiences such as a museum visit or stadium tour.

Ultimately, the project provides greater immersion for all LALIGA EA SPORTS fans in every corner of the globe, bringing them closer to experiencing a live match from the competition, which benefits both the fan and the club. This pilot project, led through the Club Office, once again demonstrates LALIGA’s support for its clubs in generating revenue and encouraging attendance at LALIGA EA SPORTS stadiums.
