LaLiga’s ElClasico tours the world with more than 90 different campaigns in 50 countries!

ElClasico, the LaLiga match that brings the world to a standstill, pits Real Madrid against FC Barcelona, took place on Sunday, March 20 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, and was celebrated with events organised by LaLiga in more than 50 countries around the world. With more than 90 events, LaLiga brought the game, which already has millions of supporters all over the world, even closer to the fans.

As part of LaLiga’s international activation strategy for this iconic match, various prize draws were organised, collaborations with local and international influencers, tournaments, fan meetings in many countries and, in addition, a special match menu was created and is available in 11 countries in Asia.

In order to become increasingly closer to its fans, LaLiga organised more than 90 events in different parts of the world, including a bike challenge in Colombia, holding a bike race with more than 500 competitors; an exclusive event with influencers from Turkey; and four simultaneous events in the United States (in New York, Houston, Miami and Los Angeles).

In addition, more than 20 watch parties of different sizes were organised in Embassies, sports bars, pubs, cinemas, and boats, as well as in venues created especially for the occasion, including the one held in Giza (Egypt), next to the Pyramids.

In Spain, from March 17 to 20, all over the city of Madrid, ElClasico was celebrated with events for all audiences, from the Ruta de la Tapa to the distribution of posters in different locations in Madrid, as well as multiple activities in Plaza de Callao.

In Africa, this meeting of titans was celebrated with events in Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Cameroon, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, among others. A highlight was the collaboration with Tanzanian influencer Kili Paul (with more than 3 million followers on Instagram), who created different types of interactive content about ElClasico.

Furthermore, in the Middle East, this event was active in Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Qatar, and Egypt, among other places. In Turkey, an exclusive gathering of influencers was held to watch the match.

In Asian countries, the Taste of ElClasico was organised in collaboration with restaurants to create a special ElClasico menu in Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, and China, among other places.

In the Americas, events were held in the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia and Canada. In Colombia, a bike race was held for 500 people followed by a viewing of the match. In Costa Rica, a concert performance with local bands was organised after the match.

Some of the European activities took place in Germany, Sweden, France, Hungary and Belgium, where ElClasico was shown in cinemas in collaboration with Turespaña and Eleven Sports.
