Marcus Bettinelli remains at Chelsea FC!

Marcus Bettinelli has signed a contract with Chelsea which extends his stay at Stamford Bridge until at least the summer of 2026.

The goalkeeper joined Chelsea in 2021, moving across west London from neighbours Fulham FC, where he had spent the previous 10 years.

On his new deal, Bettinelli said, “It is a privilege to be at a club like Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and a couple of years ago when I signed I was delighted to be here, delighted to sign. To be here now and see the club going through this transition and seeing what we are developing, it is amazing to be a part of and I am buzzing to be here for an extra couple of years.”

Bettinelli has added strength to Chelsea FC’s goalkeeping options over the last two years, working with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy, while featuring among the club’s substitutes on a regular basis in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and domestic cup competitions.

The 30-year-old also has a winner’s medal from last year’s FIFA Club World Cup, where he was on the bench for both the semifinals and the final, as Chelsea FC beat Palmeiras to lift that trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
