Match Officials confirmed for AFC Cup 2023/24 Final!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed that Omar Mohamed Ahmed Hassan Alali will take charge of the highly anticipated AFC Cup 2023/24 Final between Al Ahed FC and Central Coast Mariners FC at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman on May 5, 2024.

With the first edition of the AFC Cup being launched in 2004, Sunday’s final will see the curtains come down on the prestigious tournament, marking the end of an illustrious 19-year run filled with some of the most iconic moments in Asian club football, as the 2024/25 season enters a new era with the introduction of the revamped three-tier club structure.

Taking charge of the historic grand finale will be the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s Alali, who was also among the 74 match officials to feature in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ earlier this year.

The Emirati, who previously served as Assistant VAR in the AFC Champions League Final in 2021, has also represented the Continent on some of the biggest stages in the world, including the FIFA U17 World Cup Indonesia 2023.

Alali will be joined by compatriots Mohamed Ahmed Yousef Abdulla Alhammadi and Jasem Abdulla Yousef Abdulla Al-Ali, both appointed as assistant referees for the match, whereas Sultan Mohamed Saleh Yusif Alhammadi, also from the UAE will take charge as the fourth official.

Meanwhile, the Emirati duo of Adel Ali Ahmed Khamis Alnaqbi and Ahmed Eisa Mohamed Darwish have been appointed as VAR and Assistant VAR respectively, with Hasan Mohamed Hasan Abdulla Almahri serving as the reserve assistant referee.
