Minerva Punjab FC face I-League title contenders Mohun Bagan in final home game!

Debutantes Minerva Punjab FC face off against Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan in their final home encounter of the ongoing I-league 2016/17 tomorrow, April 15 at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana at 7pm.

The encounter is a crucial one for both teams involved as Mohun Bagan are looking to solidify their lead at the top of the table and gain three valuable points to edge out Aizwal FC and East Bengal Club for the I-League title. Whereas Minerva Punjab FC will look to add threevaluable points to their kitty to seal their Federation Cup slot.

Both teams are expected to give a tough fight to each other with so much riding on the line. The last time the teams met in Kolkata, at the beginning of the season a much unsettled and inexperienced Minerva Punjab FC lost the match 0-4.

But tomorrow Minerva Punjab FC head coach Surinder Singh is looking to make amends to this record and is confident that a more settled Minerva Punjab FC will not make it easy for the formidable opposition.

The Mohun Bagan head coach Sanjoy Sen, who attended the press conference was keen to collect all three points but was cautious as his team have had a very tight schedule having played four matches and travelling all over the country in little over a week.

Both teams are free of injuries and suspensions but neither coach gave away too much information about their respective team line-ups and strategies.
