Mizoram FA Executive Committee outlines plan for the new 2019/20 season!

The Mizoram Football Association Executive Committee sat for the first time in the new season on June 8 to outline plans for the upcoming term.

Sub-committees : In order to ensure efficient level of performance in all spheres, the MFA has decided to set up 12 sub-committees that will operate under selected office bearers. An MPL board is also set up to administer the Mizoram Premier League.

Calendar: A calendar for the upcoming season was also approved by the committee!

June: Registration & Transfer
July – August: MFA Super Cup
August: Independence Day Football
August – November: Under 15 League
September – December: MPL8
September – Inter District Sub Junior Boys Championship (Mamit)
October – Inter District Women’s Championship ( Siaha)
February – March: Women’s League
March: MFA Cup

(A separate Futsal calendar will be outlined by the Futsal Committee. Women’s Football and Veteran Football calendar will be decided by their respective committees)

MFA SUPER CUP: The MFA Super Cup will kickoff the season as per tradition. Due to the Central Young Mizo Association Inter-Branch YMA Football Tournament (state-wide inter village football jointly organised by MFA and the biggest NGO of the state Central YMA), the Super Cup will take place after the Central YMA tournament. An organising committee has been set up for the Super Cup.

INDEPENDENCE DAY FOOTBALL: The Independence Day Football Tournament will take place again this season with this year’s tournament boasting an expansion with the inclusion of a veteran competition. The men’s tournament will be contested by the eight Mizoram Premier League clubs while an organising committee will decide how the women’s and veteran tournament will take place.

AIFF D LICENCE COURSE: An AIFF D License Coaching Course will be held between June 24-29 at Aizawl. District Football Associations will each have two seats from the available 24, while application forms for the remaining 8 spots will be available at the MFA Office. Application forms will be available between June 11-14 at MFA Office, City Park. Last date of submission will be June 18.

AFC FUTSAL COURSE: As part of the initiative of the All India Football Federation, an Asian Football Confederation Level 1 Futsal Course will take place in Aizawl in the month of July. The AIFF will select participants for the course from applicants within and outside of the state.
