Mizoram Football Association outlines plans for 2022!

The Mizoram Football Association Executive Committee outlined its plans to recommence football and futsal activities in 2022 depending on the Covid situation in the state.

1. As approved in the MFA Special General Body Meeting, the MFA currently has plans to recommence the Under 15 League, Mizoram Premier League Under 18, MFA Women’s League and veteran football, all with taking into consideration the state’s Covid situation.
Futsal activities will also commence from the beginning of 2022, and for this, registration will take place in December 2021.

Regarding the Mizoram Premier League, the league will hold a meeting with stakeholders from clubs as well as sponsors with a view to moving forward.

Grassroots & Youth Development Committee will oversee Grassroots football training in accordance with Covid protocols laid down by the Government.

2. The MFA has agreed to a revision of remuneration for state football coaches after a suggestion came from the Association of Mizoram Licensed Football Coaches. Coach remuneration will be based on license, while a performance leading to semifinals and beyond in national competition will also be compensated.

3. As was approved by the MFA Special General Body Meeting, a revision of the compensation for the hosts of Inter District football competition has been finalized. 2022 will see the MFA Cup, Inter District Boys Championship and Inter District Women’s Championship depending on the state Covid-19 situation.

4. The Mizoram men’s and women’s football team are in its final preparation stages, and despite a slight Covid scare, final team selections have been made with the squad to be announced in due time.

The Mizoram Women’s team will depart for the Senior Women’s National Football Championship in Kerala on November 20. Nivia will again provide kits for both teams.
