Mizoram Premier League: Chanmari FC and Dinthar FC share spoils!

mpl-dinthar-fc-chanmari-fc The final fixture of round 9 saw longtime rivals Chanmari FC and Dinthar FC square off in an intense encounter and plenty of action. A much improved Dinthar FC took the lead in the first half only to be thwarted in the second half by their opponents.

As was expected from two teams that have one of the most storied rivalry in recent times in local football, there was plenty of action and energy right from the whistle.

End-to-end action saw Malsawmfela be a threat for Chanmari FC, while Samuel coming close for Dinthar FC to take the lead half an hour into the first half. Striker Michael Lalremruata set up a beautiful for the oncoming Ruatpuia to finish in style.

The second half saw Chanmari FC change their shape and it paid off. With homegrown hero Rochhingpuia finishing off a rebound from a free kick taken by MS-a.

Dinthar FC then threatened to retake the lead through Ruatpuia only to be denied by the Chanmari FC custodian. Both teams looked for an elusive winner till the end but came up short in what was an evenly contested and thoroughly entertaining match.

The Man of the Match award was given to Joseph Lalruatfela, goalkeeper for Dinthar FC.
