The second fixture of MPL5 – Round 2 for the day was played between newcomers Chhinga Veng FC and Zo United FC with both teams failing to find the net at the Lammual Stadium in Aizawl.
Both teams started brightly and were looking to gain an early advantage but could not muster up clear cut chances.
Chhinga Veng FC almost drew first blood after Lalkhawpuimawia nearly converted a gilt-edged chance. His side still gaining the upper hand failed to breakdown a resolute Zo United defence.
The second half saw much of the same with Chhinga Veng clearly going for the kill after putting on striker M.S. Dawngliana. They got a goal from Paul Ramfangzauva disallowed for a foul after just two minutes of the restart.
Zo United tried to conjure up a scoring opportunity but failed against a team with a reputation for strong organisation at the back, thus sharing a point each after 90 minutes.
Zo United defender Malsawma Chhangte was awarded Man of the Match for his endeavours.
