Mohammedan Sporting Club mourn Syed Abid Imam’s demise!

Mohammedan Sporting Club are in a state of mourning following the untimely demise of former midfielder Syed Abid Imam on Friday, April 16 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was only 55.

Born in Assam, Imam can play on both wings as well as central midfielder and he played for Mohammedan Sporting Club from 1987 to 1992. He also played for East Bengal Club. He also represented the Indian junior football team in the Asian Youth Football Championship which was held in 1986 at Kuwait.

“I have received the devastating news of Abid Imam’s passing,” lamented Mohammedan Sporting Club interim general secretary Danish Iqbal.

“I am still reeling from the shock of hearing this sad news. Abid Imam may be gone but he will never be forgotten. His memory will linger on in the hearts and minds of the Mohammedan Sporting Club faithful,” he further added.
