Mohammedan Sporting leave for Gangtok to play Sikkim Governor’s Gold Cup!

Mohammedan Sporting practiceKolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting Club will start their campaign in the 36th All India Sikkim Governor’s Gold Cup from the quarterfinal round and would face the winner between Calcutta Port Trust and Nagpur FC on Sunday, October 23.

At Gangtok, the clubs assistant coach Zaheer Abbas Hamza will be in charge of the team as head coach Mridul Banerjee is unavailable due to personal reasons.

For the tournament Mohammedan Sporting will rely mostly on junior players as the club has decided to rest some of their regular staters in the Calcutta Football League like Leonce Dodoz, Lancine Toure, Mumtaz Akhtar, Nitesh Chhikara, Dipendu Dowary and Dipankar Das.

The team will leave in the Darjeeling Mail train from Sealdah Railway Station on Thursday, October 20 at 10.05pm and will reach Gangtok via New Jaipaiguri on Friday, October 21.
