Mohun Bagan won their second match of the Zee Bangla Football League against Manbhum Magicians at the Mohun Bagan ground with a 2-0 scoreline. Kiyan Giri Nasiri and Deep Mondal scored two brilliant goals to clinch victory.
The match started a bit slow as both the teams wanted to observe their opponents strengths and weakness before going for the attack. After the first quarter, Mohun Bagan started playing more attacking football. Deep missed an excellent opportunity to score at this time. Both teams went to lemon break with deadlock not broken.
After the break, Mohun Bagan started attacking more during the third quarter of the play with their players all over the opponents. It looked like Mohun Bagan will score any moment.
However, the Manbhum Magicians somehow defended all the attacks. At the very end of the third quarter Mohun Bagan coach Nasim Ali made an important substitution by bringing on Kiyan, who did not waste any time to join the attacks.
In 55th minute Nasiri put Mohun Bagan in front. During the very last minutes of added time Mohun Bagan striker Deep Mondal scored with a flying header, one of the best goals of the tournament, to double Mohun Bagan’s lead.
Deep Mondal was adjudged as the Player of the match.
Mohun Bagan will play Nadia Nayaks next on June 10 at 3pm at the Mohun Bagan ground.
