Defending Indian Federation Cup champions Mohun Bagan AC after the finish of their I-League campaign have travelled with a squad of only 16 players to the Maldives to face local side Maziya Recreation & Sports Club in the 2017 AFC Cup – Group E.
The Mariners and their head coach Sanjoy Sen have done it again by focussing more on local competitions after the I-League it is the Federation Cup with the head coach not having travelled to the Maldives and his assistant Shankarlal Chakraborty heading the squad which has some regulars, but is mainly made up of fringe players with little to no playing time in the I-League.
The match would be played on Wednesday, May 3 at the National Stadium in Male with kick off at 4.30pm IST.
