Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan AC have made their first international signing by finalising a deal with Nigerian defender Eze Kingsley Obumneme from I-League champions Aizawl FC.
Eze Kingsley Obumneme, who plays as a central defender but can also play in defensive midfield, had joined Aizawl FC ahead of the I-League as a journeyman from Calcutta Football League side Peerless SC. Before that Kingsley played for United SC, Police AC, Kalighat Milan Sangha, and HAL – Bangalore elsewhere in India.
Mohun Bagan will be hoping that Kingsley can bring the stability to the Mariners defence like he did at Aizawl FC and Peerless SC last season with an advantage being that Kingsley has played in Kolkata and the Calcutta Football League in the last few seasons.
