Setting out looking for their first victory in season 7, newcomers Chawnpui FC held Ramhlun North FC to a 1-1 draw in the final fixture of the Mizoram Premier League – Round 2.
Ramhlun North FC took the lead on the 35th minute when Lalliansanga took advantage of a costly error from Chawnpui FC’s goalkeeper Malsawma.
Chawnpui FC, who were the more threatening side till then, almost conceded another only for Nigerian forward Waheed Adekunle’s wayward finishing saving them from going two goals behind.
The second half saw Chawnpui FC regain their composure as the threat provided by Vanlalthanga proved to be a nuisance for RNFC’s defenders.
They got their goal on the 63rd minute when man of the match Vanlalthanga scored from a well-struck freekick to finish level the score at 1-1.
