MPL-7: Mark Zothanpuia seals win for Chanmari FC over Mizoram Police!

Chanmari FC got back to winning ways in the Mizoram Premier League – Round 6 as they overcame Mizoram Police FC with a 1-0 victory.

A second half goal from Mark Zothanpuia sealed the win for Chanmari FC who had suffered consecutive defeats in the previous rounds.

A vastly changed Mizoram Police team lined up at AR Lammual after several players faced disciplinary action following the last round. But they began brightly with F. Lalrinpuia forcing a save from Chanmari FC goalkeeper M.S. Dawngliana.

Chanmari FC had the better chances as the game went on as Police goalkeeper Muanawma had to be alert to save from Laldampuia while Lalnunzama was blocked by a last ditch tackle from Ronald Zothanzama.

Mark Zothanpuia then struck early on in the second half with a precise freekick which gave Chanmari a confidence boost. And it almost resulted in a second but Jeremy Laldinpuia could not capitalise on his chance.

The Police team had a couple of half chances to get back into the game but they failed to really test their opponents towards the end of the game.
