New Delhi School organises Girls’ Grassroots Football Festival!

girls-grassroots-festival-new-delhiNew Delhi’s Bal Bharti Public School on Pusa Road organised a Girls Grassroots Football Festival on Saturday, September 17 with the assistance of the AIFF.

The Event witnessed participation of 95 kids along with their parents and teachers. The schools Grassroots Leader Ms Shiva Mathur (Physical Education teacher of the school) led the event with the support of 10 Grassroots/D Licence Coaches. The festival encompassed 10 grids in total, 5 involving fun games and the other 5 had a Small Sided Game (SSG).

It was a remarkable site to see parents getting involved as coaches, participants, supporters and as motivators. They were there throughout the event to encourage their kids to play. The kids were dynamic and energetic to play football and went back home with a spirit to return to the field to play again.

The current National Team players Anushka Samuel (India U-16 , U-19 probable) and Dalima Chhibber (Senior India Team) were there to motivate and encourage the kids to play the sport.
