NorthEast United FC sign left-back Hira Mondal!

Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of left-back Hira Mondal for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

26 year old Hira Mondal, who was born in Kolkata, played locally in his youth before joining the East Bengal Club youth team.

At senior level, Hira Mondal played in the Calcutta Football League for Calcutta Port Trust, Rainbow AC, Tollygunge Agragami, and Peerless SC.

In 2018, Hira Mondal returned to East Bengal and he played a few matches but then made a move to rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club, where he would go on to impress and East Bengal resigned him for their ISL-8 campaign.

Hira Mondal was one of the few positives in the SC East Bengal campaign and that resulted in Bengaluru FC to sign him. He was part of the Blues, 2022 Durand Cup winning campaign but he wouldn’t play any part in their ISL-9 campaign and in November his contract was terminated.

Now Hira Mondal joins the Highlanders with a point to prove in the ISL.
