Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of Spanish midfielder Joseba Beitia for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
32 year old Donostia-San Sebastian-born Joseba Agirregomezkorta Beitia is a product of the Real Sociedad Academy from San Sebastian.
Joseba Beitia started his senior career in the 2010/11 season with Real Sociedad B. He stayed there for three seasons and moved to CD Sariñena in 2013-14 season before playing two seasons for Unión Deportiva Somozas. He then played for the clubs Marbella FC (2016/17), Racing Club de Ferrol (2017/18) and Real Unión Club de Irún (2018/19).
Joseba Beitia before the 2019/20 season left Spanish shores for the first-time to move to Kolkata and what a season it would be as he was a key player in the Mariners I-League winning campaign.
Joseba Beitia then moved to join RoundGlass Punjab FC in 2020 to spend two seasons with them before moving to Rajasthan United FC ahead of the 2022/23 I-League.
Now Joseba Beitia leaves the I-League to try his luck in the Indian Super League for the first-time by joining NorthEast United FC.
At the Highlanders, Joseba Beitia will replace another Spaniard in Jon Gaztañaga Arrospide, who has moved to Cypriot side Karmiotissa Pano Polemidion.
