NorthEast United FC sign Nigerian striker Sylvester Igboun!

Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Sylvester Igboun for the ongoing 2022/23 season.

32 year old Sylvester Emeka Igbonu, who was born in Lagos, in his youth played for local sides be moving as a teenager to join Danish side FC Midtjylland, where he would go on to make his senior debut.

Thereafter Sylvester moved to Russia to join FC Ufa from where he spend time on loan with Dynamo Moscow, whom he thereafter joined. Last Sylvester played for Nizhny Novgorod before now moving to India to join the Highlanders.

NorthEast United FC technical director Ohad Efrat said, “It has been a long wait to sign Sylvester, a player who would fit into our current system. Sylvester is an experienced player and he is definitely worth the wait.”

“I believe that he is our last piece of the puzzle. A versatile player like Sylvester will be a good addition to our squad.”
