Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of striker William Lalnunfela from Jamshedpur FC ahead of the 2021/22 season.
26 year old Kolasib-born William Lalnunfela started his football career with Pui Pui locally in Mizoram before shifting to Vengthar VC. He was then scouted by former I-League side Pune FC for their Peninsula Pune FC Academy in 2011.
After two years with Pune FC, William Lalnunfela returned to Mizoram to join Chanmari FC and after a season with them he joined Aizawl FC.
And William Lalnunfela became an all-time hero of ‘The People’s Club’ and their fans when he scored the equaliser for Aizawl FC at Shillong Lajong FC to lift the 2016/17 I-League title.
In 2018, William Lalnunfela joined Mohun Bagan AC but returned to Aizawl FC only a season later.
In 2020, William Lalnunfela signed for the first-time in the Indian Super League with Jamshedpur FC.
Now this season, he returns to the NorthEast by joining the Highlanders.
