NorthEast United FC travel to face FC Goa!

The anticipation is palpable as NorthEast United FC gears up to face FC Goa in the 16th match of their Indian Super League campaign.

Coming off a recent defeat against Mohun Bagan SG, the Highlanders are eager to bounce back and secure crucial points in their journey towards the playoffs.

FC Goa, positioned as one of the top sides in the league, stands tall with 28 points from 13 games. In contrast, NorthEast United FC has accumulated 16 points in 15 games, emphasizing the significance of this clash as both teams approach the business end of the league.

NorthEast United FC has found a striking solution in their recent acquisition, Tomi Juric. The Australian forward has been a revelation, making an instant impact with four goals in just two games. In a historic feat, Juric has become the first player in ISL history to score consecutive braces in his first two appearances, also marking NorthEast United FC’s first player to achieve such a milestone. The team will look to capitalize on Juric’s goalscoring prowess to challenge FC Goa’s formidable defense.

In a pre-match statement, Head Coach Juan Pedro Benali acknowledged the challenges ahead, saying, “It is very important to understand the game and solve the problem according to the game. Very difficult game, hot weather, great to play against Goa. One of the best coaches in ISL, Manolo, a great team, they lost their last game, that means against us they will be keen to gain points. We will try our best to stop it.”

With the battle lines drawn, football enthusiasts can expect a thrilling encounter as NorthEast United FC strives to upset the big gun and solidify their position in the race for the playoffs.
