Odisha FC: A Remarkable ISL Season of Resilience & Progress!

Odisha FC had a memorable season in the 2022-23 Indian Super League, as they finished sixth on the table and qualified for the playoffs for the first time in the club’s history.

This year was indeed a significant achievement for the team, considering their struggles in the previous seasons.

The Eastern Dragons put up quite a few impressive performances and recorded their highest number of wins and points in a season. The team won nine matches, drew three, and lost nine, accumulating 30 points in the process. This is a remarkable improvement from their last season’s performance.

Odisha FC’s attack was one of the highlights of their season, as they scored 30 goals in 21 matches, with Diego Mauricio leading the way with a total of 12 goals. Nandhakumar had an outstanding season netting six goals and is the top Indian goalscorer this year. Pedro, Jerry, and Isak also contributed to the club’s goalscoring tally.

One of the most impressive aspects of Odisha FC’s campaign was their resilience and ability to come back from behind. The team had a never-say-die attitude, and they managed to salvage points from losing positions on several occasions.

The club’s journey to the playoffs was not without its challenges, as they had to endure a difficult period in the middle of the season, where they dropped significant points. However, the team showed great character and bounced back in style, winning two of their last three matches to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Despite their eventual elimination from the playoffs, Odisha FC can be proud of their efforts this season. They have made significant progress and have established themselves as a team to be reckoned with in the Indian Super League. With a young and talented squad, Odisha FC will be looking to build on their success and challenge for the title in the upcoming seasons.
